Lauren German is a pretty popular actress. Her most recent role in the canceled Lucifer series has made her once again a sought-after name. Yet Lauren German has been in plenty of horror films, especially back at the start of her career. If you are a fan of the Hostel franchise then you will find this amazing actress in the second installment. Not only that but if you are looking for three reviews all at the same time, then look no further. Mother of Movies was asked to guest-write for a horror website, HorrorWorld. Are the Hostel Movies Scary?
Yes, Yes they are. What’s more frightening than the thought of holidaying somewhere with a friend. Imagine meeting someone totally innocuous and doing something normal with them. Before you know it you’re part of something bigger and more frightening than you could ever think of. The Hostel franchise takes one element of traveling and turns it into something not only plausible but horrifying and that makes these movies great.
Before you go, let’s talk about the franchise as a whole
Most people remember the Saw movies before they would mention Hostel I, II or II. However, I think there is a lot more to the narrative for the Hostel movies than to the Saw films. Sure Saw has puzzles and a puzzle master and plenty of twists and turns. But after the first and second films, the format is fundamentally the same all the way through the other films. For me, The Hostel story is clever. Eli Roth, who directed two fo the three films is a fantastic filmmaker who knows how to handle this niche particularly well. While the first installment is unanimously great, I thought just as highly of the second film as my review (linked about) will explain.
For more information on the third part of the series check out this Fandom article. With a change of direction to Scott Spiegel (Evil Dead II), the Elite Hunting Club shows just how large the corporation has become.
