Released by Panic at the Disco, Say Amen (Saturday Night) 2018 is just one part of a three-part music video trilogy. It’s the prequel to two previous music videos by the band and I’ve got them all here for you to watch in order. You love Brendon Urie just as much as I do and you can’t help it, so read on for a hefty dose of all things Urie.

Maybe a music video anthology short film series has been done before but I’ve never seen it. You can watch all three videos for “Say Amen”, “This Is Gospel”, and “The Emperor’s New Clothes” while we talk about the music and the videos. These three clips lean heavily into the horror genre, and we like that.

Review of the Say Amen Music Video

The film clip for “Say Amen” is an awesome mix of action and bloodshed. I’ve watched it many times and I’m still not sick of it. The song is even growing on me. Such a great video short. The lyrics intertwine with the mini-movie and the special effects are cool.

Again with lyrics in “Gospel” 2013 that enhance the video short, the two are connected but in different veins. The lyrics talk about killing the spirit by never letting go and the movie encapsulates Brendon’s inability to escape his prison. This short film is fully focused on Brendan and uses lighting and less is more imagery to tell the story. I like it a lot.

  • Song: Pop | Rock,

Music Video Review for The Emperor’s New Clothes

Dark lighting and shadows feature heavily in this Say Amen music video. The lyrics overlap with the story within the film which makes for epic viewing. The Emporer’s New Clothes title adds emphasis to the film as the original tale is about pride and vanity as is the movie and the lyrics.

It is a fitting end to the trilogy that was made before the current release of the prequel.
