A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master

I rewatched A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master recently and hadn’t seen it for many years but yes, it holds up.
One of the most iconic of the Freddy Kruger films it has all the scenes you think of when you think of Freddy Kruger.

The iconic waterbed death.
The asthma puffer classroom death.
The Jaws glove scene.

Quote from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4

Maybe other death scenes ring more true for you but these are my favorites. Because of this horror film from the ’80s though, I had a decent fear of waterbeds for some time. You’ve gotta admit, the acting, though quiet and subtle is good. The special effects, though faltering at times (the nunchuck scene…I see your shoddy wig and manly features) are still enjoyable. The plot is consistent. The continuance of the general story from previous movie chapters is done nicely.

I would gladly watch A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 again, as I have in the past. Even if you haven’t seen it, I haven’t spoiled anything for you. The synopsis clearly mentions that the kids die, and anyone familiar with “Freddy Kruger” knows what to expect. The true surprise lies in who manages to survive, and the thrilling anticipation of witnessing someone being killed by a waterbed. It’s definitely something to look forward to!
