Anything For Jackson Poster

Movies like Greta, The Visit, and countless other creepy movies with the senior generation represented, float my horror boat. The Anything For Jackson movie has all that pent-up life experience. It is more crammed into a possession and exorcism narrative. Now with that being said, this horror movie has quite a small cast. Sheila McCarthy and Jullian Richings do a fine job here as quietly inconspicuous grieving grandparents having gone through a tragedy. The most organized kidnappers I’ve ever had the pleasure of witnessing begin the story with detailed precision.

In a tale that unfolds with dark and fervent devotion, Richings takes on the role of Doctor Henry Walsh. Together with his beloved wife Audrey, they desire to breathe life once more into their departed grandson. They possess a blend of unwavering determination and a mastery of the occult. They decide to restore his soul to a newly formed vessel of innocence.

Exorcisms, Kidnapping, and Possession

Throughout “Anything For Jackson” there is never an assurance on which direction the story will take. The haunting horror movie proves to be a masterclass in unpredictability. The enigmatic characters at the center of this dark tale are portrayed by a talented cast. They keep you guessing until the very end. Konstantina Mantelos delivers a captivating performance as Becker, a young woman trapped in a most unusual predicament. Becker is handcuffed inside a soundproofed bedroom without explaining what she is there for.

The meticulous care with which her captors, the seemingly innocent yet nefarious couple, Audrey and Henry, treat her is both chilling and fascinating. Audrey’s nurturing nature mixed with her underlying intentions creates an eerie dynamic. As the film progresses, Becker’s fate hangs in the balance. You become increasingly invested in the unraveling of what her fate will be. With every twist and turn, Anything For Jackson is a satisfying ride.

Anything For Jackson 2020 unearths its possession and exorcism roots with joyful glee. This cinematic gem embraces the essence of classic haunting tales, drawing you in with its eerie ambiance and suspense. As the meticulously planned rituals unleash, the protagonists navigate their chosen path, untangling a web of demonic forces. Audrey and Henry, consumed by their willingness to let evil in, find themselves in a perilous dance with evil.

Anything For Jackson Review

The original horror movie is a really interesting and slightly funny take on the sub-genre of haunted houses, spirits, and what happens if you try and recover the dead. The finale leaves everything open to interpretation. It also includes some nice nods to “The Omen” and “The Shining” which was cool to see. For more movies about exorcism and possession, watch The Pope’s Exorcist or The Cleansing Hour next.
