If you’re into Eraserhead from 1977, this short film is mesmerizing. This Die Antwood music video is one of the best. It has all the characteristics used in the iconic Eraserhead movie for lighting and mood. You’ll notice tonnes of set pieces similar to those in the film and the whole thing feels like an alternate version of one of the scariest and weirdest films I’ve seen. If you’ve never heard of Yolandi Vi$$er (Yolandi Visser), now is the time to learn about her. Aside from that, Jack Black is in this mini-movie of music from Die Antwood.
Who Is Die Antwood and Yolandi Vi$$er
The music group consists of God (formerly Ninja and Hi-Tek) and Yo-Landi Vi$$er Die Antwood has become well known as an integral part of the Zef culture. “Poor but fancy.” I guess in Australia the parallel would be “cashed-up bogan,” except the bogans would need to be cool AF… which they are not.
Ninja, sorry God, and Yo-Landi Vi$$er are the duo that brings you the voracious South Africaans Hip-Hop sound which simply cannot be compared with anything else. Die Antwoord released their first album in 2009 for $0$ and it was free. But if you have never heard them, the player and music videos are below.

Jack Black Stars in the Music Video Tommy Can’t Sleep
It stars Jack Black. I was not expecting it and nor will you be.
This Die Antwood music video is the most unbelievable, coolest thing I’ve seen in a while and it’s a music video encased in a song encased in a taste of Roger Ballen’s unique and dark style. What blew me away was the kid in this (Sixteen Jones) swears like a trooper. The bedroom in the Tommy Can’t Sleep music video features an AK47 among crude drawings and words. With promises of boobies among other things, Tommy’s lured down a hole by a rat.
Is it an alternate universe, a dream, or a glimpse into Tommy’s future?
I still can’t believe Jack Black makes an appearance in this music video. He is a rat man and the artist spray-painting penises on things. The beat laid down is another highlight of the experience which starts around the 3-minute mark, after the music video.
I give Tommy Can’t Sleep
