Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom 2018

Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom is a solid entry into this film franchise. I’ve always been a fan of the Jurassic Park movies but I have to admit the first film released way back in 1993 was well-made, well-scripted and had just the right amount of tension and fear. As far as the franchise is concerned, I started to wonder how much more stuff they could do with a dinosaur-themed adventure park.

Jurassic World 2018

The director Juan Antonio Bayona is not someone I’m familiar with and seems an odd choice given that his other films are quite different from the one with dinosaurs. I think this one feels a little different. It’s got a bit more of a complex narrative in some places. Does that mean this one is aimed at adults more than the others? The fact that I’ve seen people drop previous films in the horror pool seems to suggest they were always more than just a kid’s film. A particular scene in this may just reignite a few scary dreams for some, however.

Certain action scenes in Jurassic World 2018 seemed a little too convenient for me. If I was to say anything negative about this one it would be that there was less tension and dramatic action than I was expecting. Some sequences seemed a little too familiar and didn’t have the same zing.

The story takes unexpected twists and introduces unfamiliar and unconventional territories for the dinosaurs to stomp about in. While it may diverge from initial expectations, this departure was a positive and refreshing experience. Discovering new and unexpected elements in a very well-known story is a great way to challenge perceptions. Although I haven’t had the chance to read Michael Crichton’s books, his involvement in the creation of the screenplay for the original installment is evident in this installment. His unique storytelling style shines through, adding depth and intrigue to the narrative.

The Cast of Fallen Kingdom 2018

The continuity of characters in the Jurassic World films is impressive. It’s always exciting to see familiar faces and follow their journey throughout the series. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has plenty of little surprises too. The emotive aspects of the movie add an extra layer of depth and make it even more enjoyable. Overall, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom successfully delivers an invigorating thrill ride smeared with lovely emotive anecdotes for fans of the franchise.

Overall though, this is an awesome movie. I’ve seen some contention around the internet for the upcoming final installment of the Jurassic World trilogy due to be completed in 2020. Fans have decided to petition the decision to go back to Colin Trevorrow at the directorial helm. I don’t mind who does it. They seem to have it all under control. It’s dinosaurs, how can you get a story like this wrong?
