Hell Fest (2018) Poster

Hell Fest is a haunted house film. But don’t worry, they’re all at the end in a special section and they are all about the killer. I know more about the killer than you do. Mother of Movies has included information on the “Hell Fest” killer and the film’s ending. The cast includes big names like Bex Taylor-Klaus and Tony Todd. I won’t tell you if they live or die but it’s not looking good for either of them.

HELL FEST MOVIE
WHERE YOUR SCREAMS COME TRUE
A masked serial killer turns a horror-themed amusement park into his own personal playground, terrorizing a group of friends while the rest of the patrons believe that it is all part of the
show.

Plot for Hell Fest

Hell Fest Review

This film runs for 1 hour and 30 minutes, but could easily have had less running and more killing to be a tighter and better-paced movie.

Two horror titles emerged in the same setting in 2018. Blood Fest was first and HF was second. Admittedly, this was a better film. Both are set in an amusement park during a festival and that is pretty much where the similarities end.

Hell Fest wasn’t special, and it should have been. Everyone involved had the right tools to make this something extra special and with my small inconspicuous tantrum out of the way, the film was not that bad.

The set design for this was super cool, and who doesn’t love a stalker slice and dice? Picking them off one by one in crowded and uncrowded scenarios was rather terrifying. Crowded kill scenes would have to be one of my favorite kinds. I have a small obsession with live haunts and horror-themed nights which in turn floats into my selection of films. I’ve included more films with similar themes plus a specialty article I wrote on haunts around the world, see the end of the review for those links.

The Practical Effects in Hell Fest Weren’t Super Great

This haunted house movie is way too predictable and even though the kills were semi-decent, some of the practical effects weren’t. Case in point, a certain scene in the toilets was extremely far-fetched and, way too try-hard to enjoy. It is even featured in the Hell Fest trailer which you can watch below has far too many plot details. I rarely watch a trailer and am grateful I chose not to in this instance, having now seen it— it gives the game away. Less is more people, less is more.

Anyway, back to the scene, I simply can’t believe that a hand dryer would be enough to make me oblivious to someone standing super close, right next to me. She’s not on another planet, and the killer’s hand is… right… there. On a side note, that thing is super high for a hand dryer, if you’ve ever tried drying your hair with those old-school ones, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Later in the Hell Fest movie, a scene involving a hypodermic needle was not well executed. I would normally cover my eyes during a scene like this, but I could tell straight away it wasn’t going to work, I could see the cover in his eye. Less zoomed in, this may have been better but when in doubt, leave it out.

Hell Fest 2

There have never been plans for a Hell Fest sequel for this popcorn horror slasher movie. Hell Fest 2 has not been announced by any of the filmmakers involved with this horror movie. However, if I hear anything, you’ll be the first to know. If you want to know where Hell Fest 2018 is streaming, check out your favorite where-to-watch site. Who Was the Killer in HF?

How cool would it have been to have gone through this group a little faster and delved more into the Hell Fest killer and his personality and motives?

“A couple of years ago, a girl got gutted. They left her body in the park for three days, security thought she was a friggin’ prop.”

Quote from Hell Fest

The Other Hell Fest Ending and Massive Spoiler Alert

It’s obvious through his large cupboard containing both trophies and additional masks, that this was not his first rodeo. It’s pointed out that there was a similar instance a few years back where a girl was killed.

If you also notice, the killer, who’s called ‘The Other’ in the cast list, only kills girls that look similar to each other. Except for Taylor, the girls killed in the film all have long hair and slender bodies. Has he got a type?

The small girl he comes home to looks to be alone, asleep on the couch, but she’s too young to be alone so he must have a wife or girlfriend around.

Perhaps there is a plan for a Hell Fest sequel? I’d watch it. Despite the generic nature of the film and the less-than-impressive pacing, I’d be into seeing another one of these. I’m a slasher fan.

  • The guy who designed the Happy Death Day mask also designed the mask used for the killer in Hell Fest. Tony Gardner is his name.
  • The Director shoved himself into the film which I love. He is shown sitting in front of Natalie after the ride breaks down.
  • Is Hell Fest real? Sure it is and the latest Hellfest 2021 and the lineup are available as are tickets to the coveted Bloodstock open-air event. Hellfest’s location is in Belgium.
