It’s Halloween all year round at Hulu and Into the Dark TV series is a great place to start if you’re looking for the best horror movies to watch. “The Body” is the first episode of the series and is all about the best holiday of the year. Not only that but among the cast for this episode of “Into the Dark” is Tom Bateman. He plays a hitman who’s having a rough day. This serial killer has a body to move. Thinking he could resolve his problem by blending in, he didn’t account for a beautiful woman and a whole crowd of strangers thinking he had the coolest costume of them all. Add to that, meeting a girl with a thing for guys dressed in suits and carrying bodies, and his whole night veered off his intended path.
The Body 2019 Movie
Firstly, if you’re looking for a negative critique, you’ve come to the wrong place. I thoroughly enjoyed this debut episode of Into the Dark’s greatest anthology series. Tom Bateman delivered an incredible performance as Wilkes. Perhaps it’s my peculiar fascination with the macabre, but the Wilkes character is truly well-written. Just like Dexter in the hit series, this character brings a combination of allure and intensity that makes for a compelling viewing experience. Lifting the title even more is the fun slasher-style comedy fused into the storyline, it works beautifully.
Best Horror Movies For Halloween, The Body
The rest of the Into the Dark cast does a bang-up job as well, with Maggie’s character (played by Rebecca Rittenhouse) coming to the party as a loner. She’s not someone who normally attends big rave-type events but ends up being a bit of a surprise package for the sophisticated Wilkes. Other characters pop and glide through the story bringing their own troubles and antics that make this episode a great place to start on your bingewatching journey into the fabulous horror anthology series.
Although the story is somewhat predictable, there is still ample going on to keep it interesting. The costumes are amazing and the idea itself of a hitman utilizing Halloween to get his job completed is a cool and novel approach to the genre lovers realm. It’s good to see Blumhouse Television bringing the goods to what is overall a fantastic series for horror fans who enjoy this type of fare.
I give The Body
4 hot hitmen out of 5
