Till Death starring Megan Fox 2021

I saw Megan Fox in a clip for the VMA awards in a see-through dress with her then-boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly. She referred to him as ‘daddy.’ She also suggested he had picked her outfit and she was practically naked. There’s no reason to add this information to a review for her 2021 horror and thriller movie “Till Death” except to say that it must be nice to be that stunningly beautiful, free, talented, and score good roles.

Jennifer’s Body is a cult classic horror favorite, she got to be in several Transformer titles, and let’s not forget that she gets to be in really cool music videos. With all that out of the way, Till Death was still a pleasant surprise. I honestly didn’t expect much from a movie about a woman who finds herself handcuffed to her dead husband. But it’s good.

My main gripes about this directorial feature film by S.K. Dale are the finale and a few moments of predictability once the storyline got underway. Apart from that though, writer Jason Carvey eked out a riveting 98-minutes. The opening is great. Take one unhappily married couple, add a dash of infidelity and an anniversary and you have all you need to embark on a double-sided mission of revenge. Till Death paints a realistic picture of a marriage on the precipice of disaster.

Emma is having an affair but ends it in favor of seeing the relationship through. Her husband is cold and, waves away her attempt at gifting him something she thinks he might like. Everything about the evening they are supposed to be enjoying is awkward and controlling.

Cat and Mouse with Megan Fox

As he drives her blindfolded to her anniversary surprise, everything about the situation says that her affair has been revealed. But her husband Mark, a high-powered attorney seems overzealously eager to whisk her away. His words hold a double entendre in their delivery.

Most of what he says could very well mean he knows all his wife’s secrets but it’s obvious he is so calculated with his demeanor that he’s not giving the slightest hint that anything is wrong. There are small clues to Emma’s past being immersed in large-scale trauma. The details for this are revealed later at a more timely moment. The manipulation evolves so eloquently in the Till Death film, that the deep psychological tension arrives way earlier than it is announced.

This horror film is the cat and mouse movie you’ve been waiting for. The film is set in a Wintery landscape that unfolds into a mystery that helps you slowly solve why Emma ends up dragging around her dead husband’s corpse. Not only does it effectively give you excellent story arcs that change the way you originally thought about who they are, but it also gives you a character to root for. Quite often in films like this, the details are fumbled so badly that any type of originality goes out the window. Till Death manages its finer key points with kid gloves.

The obviousness of some of its twists can be overlooked because of the tenacity in which they are delivered. Fox’s Emma is like some kind of female MacGuyver in her resourcefulness that only strengthens the fact that she was in a crappy situation fueled by people she was supposed to be able to trust.

“Together Forever”

The lengths that Mark goes to, to enact his revenge is tantamount to any high-caliber action movie and just as interesting. And like I said, the finale was completely over the top dumb as rocks, and unbelievable at best, but exactly how anyone who’s anyone wanted this to end.

Till Death is a worthy and memorable use of your time and even more so if you’re a fan of Megan Fox already.
