Horror films and music videos. My Chemical Romance released a music video back in 2009 and it features stills and imagery from the 1999 Japanese extreme horror film Audition. In the video, there are heaps of horror films that serve as a backdrop for the wider message of the Honey, This Mirror Isn’t Big Enough For The Two Of Us lyrics. For the full music video, scroll down to the end of the review. In the meantime, let’s talk about the song and the Audition horror movie.
“Honey, This Mirror Isn’t Big Enough For The Two Of Us”
This Music Video is Inspired by the Japanese Horror Film Audition
Audition Film From 1999
My Chemical Romance is a band known to be pretty keen on anything vampire. Horror movies are given the nod in many of both their outside appearance and the style of their videos. This one caught my eye because of references to the 1999 Japanese film Audition. The music film shows a woman very similar to the one in the picture below from the original film. Like the film, both feature themes of love and what happens when it is unreciprocated or turns sour. In this case, though the song is about addiction, a completely different kind of love.
The Synopsis is just like the Audition Movie in the Music Video Honey, This Mirror Isn’t Big Enough
A Japanese man holds auditions looking for someone to date.
Thinking that he may have found the perfect woman, she disappears after a brief liaison.
When he can’t find her, he returns home to find that she is not the woman he thought she was.

The full music video for the song can be watched below. “Honey, This Mirror Isn’t Big Enough For The Two Of Us” is a fantastic catchy song only enhanced by the fact that the imagery on screen leans heavily into a similar story akin to the classic Audition 1999 horror movie.

Honey, This Mirror Isn’t Big Enough For The Two Of Us lyrics
In this video, the song has nothing to do with the short film other than providing a great soundtrack. The song is all about Gerard Way, the vocalist’s history with drugs and alcohol. I kind of like My Chemical Romance on occasion though. Honey, This Mirror Isn’t Big Enough For The Two Of Us lyrics can be found on YouTube and you can sing along if you like.
Well, I’ll choose this life I’ve taken, never mind the friends I’m making, and I get a little shaken because I live my life like this.
