Friend Request Review
There are some great horror movies about being indirectly murdered by or as a consequence of being tech-savvy. “Unfriended”, “Searching”, and “The Den” comes to mind when I think of good ones I’ve seen. Friend Request 2018 has good intentions and a moderately adequate cast. The narrative declines quickly. Almost immediately, Laura dares to add a friend. This friend is so unlikable that it damages her popularity amongst her peers.
It seems like an over-moralistic cautionary tale. It tries to show “how to treat your friends well without them hanging themselves.” However, it simply fails on every level to do so. The characters are un-engaging and the story should pack a punch when it simply meanders along. There are plenty of worse movies out there than this. However, the premise sounds exciting, yet it gives you this instead. It’s hard not to be disappointed.

When I see criminal and murder cases in a storyline combined with psychology doctors, I expect an intriguing experience. I should have known that Denise Richards, who held a leading role in this, would only have headed towards trouble. Why do casting people think she is a good fit in a professional job role? I imagine Charlie Sheen snorting coke beside her. This image washes away any inkling of believability.
American Violence 2017 Review
I am a cinephile who adores character-driven narratives. I could only snort in disgust at the rushed atmosphere of almost every relationship formed in this one. A disjointed plot adds to that. The film attempts to give greater meaning to the debate of whether execution is good or bad. However it does not do a good job of it.

Worst Documentaries to Streaming Now
The Exorcist is one of my all-time favorite films. William Friedkin is also someone I got excited about when I saw his name attached to a documentary about exorcisms. From its opening though, the whole thing seems forced, unnatural, and fake. I was interested in foreign films. I thought I was beginning to feel more connected with languages aside from English. When I felt the performances of those afflicted were not natural, however, I was told that the subtitles didn’t match the dialogue in all parts. This whole documentary felt bad and was bad.
The Devil and Father Amorth
Its promotional poster shows an overturned car with a screaming woman in the front. It immediately says this film will be exciting. It also promises sinister forces creating havoc on a bunch of teenagers.
This film is the most unwatchable on the list. Coincidentally, it also holds the lowest rating on two movie sites I look to. It was made for just 20,000 pounds and is from the UK. You might want to lend it a pity star. However, it simply doesn’t deserve one.
Worst Movies Streaming In the Action Genre
Shout out to How it Ends for being a movie that I still think was a pilot. Maybe it was accidentally uploaded to the Netflix catalog by mistake because it is one of the worst genre movies.
Hungerford Film Review
But let’s get to Hungerford 2018. The casting is terrible and the acting is simply poor by most B-grade movie standards. I did some reading about this film before watching it. I was very interested in the fact that the director is the main star. However, the entire film is epitomized by the car crash. It is a car crash itself. I’m fairly certain I could make an equally bad effort myself with my iPhone at home.

Like Father
I initially decided to watch “Like Father” after hearing positive reviews, but I must say, I strongly dislike this film. Despite its 6.1/10 rating on IMBD.com, I firmly believe that this movie is a stinker. I have a soft spot for Kristen Bell. I also have a great admiration for Kelsey Grammer. However, I found it difficult to connect with the heart of this movie. I had hoped for some emotionally impactful moments because of my complicated relationship with my father. I also wanted some hearty laughs from the comedy elements. Unfortunately, I received neither.

Rachel’s father Harry did manage to get her to stop using her phone so much. This is what I gained from seeing this film. Job well done Dad, you sure showed her. I was just swimming in beige the whole way through. Sorry fans.
