Upgrade Movie Review

Upgrade is indeed a film that defies expectations and provides an exhilarating viewing experience for both male and female audiences. Its intense action sequences, combined with a thought-provoking plot, make it a thrilling ride for anyone who enjoys adrenaline-pumping movies.

The film taps into the primal instincts of its viewers, as the protagonist’s journey is filled with heart-pounding moments that can resonate with anyone who appreciates high-octane action. Regardless of gender, Upgrade offers an immersive experience that allows the audience to feel the adrenaline and excitement coursing through their veins. So, whether you identify as male or female, Upgrade has the power to exhilarate and engage you with its thrilling action and captivating story. It’s a testament to how a well-crafted movie can transcend the boundaries of gender.

The great thing about how this movie is put together is it uses tired and well-trodden technology-driven themes and amping it up to 11. This film has amazing cinematography, beautifully dark and dingy futuristic scenery, and a plot that is both interesting and not overly complicated to follow.  Additionally, it will leave gore-hounds satiated with its in-your-face mashing smashing, and stabbing alongside superbly shot action scenes. This is my absolute favorite combination — action, and horror and I enjoyed every second of this.

Performances in the Upgrade movie were super-soft but only added to the overall feel of the rest of what’s going on. Like taking some lemon when something is overly sticky. The characters take a back seat allowing you to concentrate on everything else. Upgrade is plenty sticky too, the characters are a mixture of evil with sci-fi dripping goodness and of course a vessel for revenge, with Grey.

Was Upgrade a Good Movie?

“Occasionally, I’ve seen this movie referenced as being similar to an extended “Black Mirror” episode. You would just have to insert a good dash of over-the-top violence into one of them to get to where this does. It was irrelevant that I predicted the ending of Upgrade because it was 100 minutes of a damn good time.”

Utilizing such a low budget and creating something like this is just one of the many positives of releasing a movie like this. And by low, I mean this was made with only a $3 million budget.

In any event, see it when you can.

I give Upgrade

What Year is Upgrade Set in?

The Upgrade movie is set in the year 2046. We know this because;

  • Grey read the report from his wife’s death and on the autopsy, his wife is born in 2008.
  • Melanie (his wife) is 38 when she was murdered. Do the math, but that means the movie is set in 2016
